Life can get a little chaotic at times, we all have moments where we can’t remember where we put anything and have a million emails to catch up on. I’m here today to share with you how to declutter and simplify your life in 8 easy steps!
1. Set a side some time to make a list.
Sit down, get out a pen and some paper (or use your phone) and write down all the things that you want to get done within the next few days or weeks. Here’s my list.
– Sort through emails
– Clean out my desk drawer
– Clean out my wardrobe and pyjama drawer
– Plan 6 blog posts
– Plan 4 Youtube videos
– Make a weekly budget tracker
This first step will help your clearly see everything that you need to do and will make things seem a little less overwhelming.
2. Plan out free time to complete the tasks.
Emails are one thing that takes up everyones time, and none of us really like going through them. BUT! It must be done… Use your planner, google calendar to set aside time to complete the tasks you have written down. You can try and get a few done in one day or complete them over a number of weeks. What ever suits you best. With the time you plan out, try to stick to the schedule and not post pone or procrastinate. Putting it off will only stress you out more, you want to get it done asap!
3. Set a side some time each week to organise your email inbox.
I don’t know about you but I often find my inbox gets full quite fast and it makes me feel just that little bit more un organised. I’ve created folders to help organise my emails and I try to go through my inbox at least once a week to file them and delete any junk mail that I don’t need. You will be surprised at how productive you will feel after you do it!
4. Wake up a little bit earlier.
Allow your self some extra time to get ready in the morning or some extra time to get things done. You don’t wanting to be rushing and stressed every morning before work or school.
5. Prepare everything the night before.
Plan out your outfit, breakfast and lunch the night before you go to school or work. Again, this will leave you with more time in the morning so you don’t have to rush to get everything done. This will also help you eat healthier. If you have more time to prepare food, you are more likely to make something healthier rather than grabbing something quick and easy.
6. Keep your workspace organised.
I cannot concentrate on my work unless my room/desk is organised. Mess stresses me out. Making sure your work space is organised will help you be more productive and stop you getting distracted from your work. Put everything away neatly, keep all your stationery organised. Have a clean desk and you will get a lot done, stress free.
7. Don’t try to do everything at once.
I know it’s stressful when your life feels un organised and all you want to do is get back on track. But you can’t do everything all at once, it may take you a few days or weeks. So don’t stress yourself out by trying to do everything in one day, go back to step 1 and plan it all out.
8. Spend time with friends and family.
You might be thinking, how is this going to simplify my life? But it will, take a break from work and spend time with friends and family to clear your mind and relax. This will set you up for a productive, successful week.
Starting writing that list, sort through those emails, plan those meals and get sh*t done. ✨❤️
