Becoming a GirlBoss

I’m sure many of you have seen the new series Girl Boss on netflix and I’m sure just as many of you have read #GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso the founder and CEO of Nasty Gal. After I Binged watched all of Girl Boss I went right out the next day to buy the book.

I have not finished the book just yet but am almost there. Last night while I was reading there were two specific quotes that really resonated with me. The first one being “Focus on the positive things in your life and you’ll be shocked at how many more positive things start happening” this couldn’t be more true.

As of late I have really been focusing on the positive aspects in my life and focusing on myself and my goals. And I can honestly say that it has made a difference. I’ve started working extra hard on my youtube channel and I reached 7K subscribers and have gained opportunities to work with some amazing brands. Eating healthier and feeling better. Waking up earlier and getting more done. All of it contributing to making more and more positive things happen.

The second quote, I read over about 100 times to really take it in. “It is she who listens to the rest of the world who fails, and it is she who has enough confidence to define success and failure for herself who succeeds.” This quote. This quote is something everyone should live by.

Something that is a big achievement to you might be a small achievement to others, it shouldn’t matter, you define your own success. For example, I’ve just reached 7’000 subscribers on my youtube channel, to me that is a huge achievement and I believe that I am successful by doing so, where as to others 7’000 might be a small number. But that doesn’t matter to me, I’m proud of my achievement! You shouldn’t let other people define your idea of success or failure. Decide for yourself.

If you are in the process of becoming a “Girl Boss” I highly recommend you read this book. It’s extreamly inspiring and will motivate you to start becoming who you want to be.
